MeQuilibrium

On the meQuilibrium e-learning series, produced in collaboration with SPILLT, I had the opportunity to contribute significantly as part of a dedicated team of character animators. This project focused on mental health awareness, blending educational content with engaging visual narratives. My role involved leveraging traditional motion graphics and text animation to make complex mental health concepts accessible and engaging for viewers.

Utilizing "rubber hose" animation techniques within After Effects, I was responsible for creating fluid and expressive character movements that enhanced both the educational and entertainment value of the series. Additionally, I managed and expanded an extensive library of assets, including elements, locations, objects, and background characters, ensuring a diverse and rich visual experience across all videos.

Creativity was key in designing new assets to meet the series' needs, contributing to a consistent and high-quality visual standard. Working closely with the scripts, I helped to develop scenes that depicted a wide range of scenarios, from everyday moments to more imaginative situations, effectively visualizing mental health concepts in a relatable and engaging manner. This project showcased my ability to translate intricate information into visually appealing and understandable content, enhancing viewers' learning experience.

In collaborating with SPILLT on the meQuilibrium e-learning series, my involvement extended deeply into character animation, a pivotal aspect of the project's focus on mental health awareness. The series demanded a significant amount of character animation, with a particular emphasis on crafting specific facial expressions to accurately convey the characters' moods and emotions. This nuanced approach to animation was critical in making the content relatable and effective in communicating complex mental health concepts to the audience.

The experience of working on this project enriched my understanding and skills in character creation pipelines. The detailed work required to animate facial expressions and convey emotions through digital characters provided me with invaluable insights. This knowledge laid the groundwork for my subsequent personal projects, including Brickman Basketball, tzMiniFigs, and many others. Through this project, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in character animation, from initial design to final animation, learning how to bring animated characters to life in a way that resonates with viewers on an emotional level.
